Location
Respect for the nature and culture of San Mateo del Mar are the guiding principles in the design of the Asunción House; as such, it is built with traditional local materials and seamlessly integrated into the natural environment. Simplicity –both functional and aesthetic– defines the project. Because it has a single adult user the house only takes up a small area. The bedroom is conceived of as a shelter and a space for recollection, while common living areas are in an open space that allows for contemplating the area’s surrounding vegetation.
