Concept

House in the woods. One of the project’s greatest challenges was responding to every need in the client’s architectural program within a very steep and rocky plot of land that was very hard to excavate.
The project’s volume was divided into three separate boxes in order to generate terraces instead of a single volume that was intrusive to its surroundings. The resulting project is three discreet boxes neatly tucked into the surrounding trees.
The house was placed at the highest point in the plot, where vegetation was least dense. Insofar as it was possible it was oriented to the south to secure the best views and the most sun and natural light. In an area with heavy rainfall the project has free flowing water throughout.
Construction was carried out with natural materials like wood and concrete.
