The Beach Shack is an intervention of an existing structure. The design aims to create an elevated platform on the second level with a fluid, organic shape that seamlessly introduces a new architectural program, in close relationship with the site’s native vegetation, primarily palm trees. This natural context informs both the design language and overall ambiance of the project.
The concept draws from a laid-back, coastal vibe, using the original palapa as a point of departure. The platform unfolds in a meandering path, gently weaving around the palm trees, much like the organic landscape of a beach. Terrazzo flooring is used to evoke the feel of sand, while palm trees sprouting through the platform contribute to an immersive, tropical experience.
