Concept

The building is inspired by two shapes: on the one hand, by the natural monumentality of an iceberg, and on the other, by the elegant shape of the whooper swan, Finnish national bird. The inner space is a gallery for contemporary art, covered by a translucent lean-to roof which is structured through a grid of fine woods; the outer space connects and distributes flows between the main pier and the city, while the building stands as a welcoming beacon on the shoreline.
